Residents of Fayette and Coweta Counties who enjoy the tantalizing taste of Greek appetizers and baklava are welcome to attend the “Greek Appetizers/Baklava Tasting” at Saint Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church located at 330 Dividend Drive, Suite 210, Peachtree City, GA 30269 on October 8, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Members of the philanthropic group, the Philoptochos Society (Friends of the Poor) will be offering each guest a sample of two Greek appetizers – Spanakopites (cheese and spinach puff pastry) and Tiropites (cheese puff pastry). For dessert, each guest is invited to sample a piece of Baklava (traditional Greek pastry consisting of filo dough, nut and honey). Coffee and tea also will be provided.
All of the Greek appetizers and Baklava are hand-made by the members of the parish. Order forms will be available on the evening of the tasting (with pick-up on Friday, November 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 21, from 9:00 a.m. until noon - just in time for holiday gatherings). After this date, contact Helen Psihountas, 770/486-6580 to place order(s) and arrange pick-up as supplies last. Order information can also be found at: http://www.saintchristopherhoc.org/index.php?pr=Bake_Sale. As there is a limited supply, it is advisable to order early.
As an added bonus, the parish is offering at no charge to the first 150 people who make reservations (by calling Marinda Tsahakis at 770/381-1842), a complimentary spaghetti dinner with garlic bread. Plan now to join in the Fall “Greek Appetizers/Baklava Tasting.”
