The names of more than 1,900 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities have been announced with a recent McIntosh High graduate among them.
Matthew J. Winn, who graduated this spring, received a scholarship financed by the University of Georgia. He will attend the university in the fall; he has not decided on a major.
College-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. This final group of winners brings the number of 2010 National Merit Scholars to approximately 8,400.
