The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum is inducting one of Fayette’s own among the Class of 2011.
Jim Bailey, head wrestling coach and language arts teacher at Fayette County High, is among five inductees from Georgia receiving the Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award, and permanent recognition at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The award is given in recognition of years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling.
Bailey joins two other previous inductees from the county, Marty Hutsell and Gary Phillips.
The Georgia Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame will hold an induction dinner on May 1 in Norcross in honor of this year’s honorees. A representative from the National Hall of Fame will present the awards.
