Parents with children entering kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school year can register their students at the Welcome Center from January 24-April 1. Georgia law requires students to be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2011 to be eligible for kindergarten.
Early registration is encouraged to avoid long wait times. The Welcome Center is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with extended hours every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center is located at 205 LaFayette Avenue in Fayetteville.
Visit www.fcboe.org, the Fayette County Public School System’s website, for additional registration information. Click the “student registration” link on the right-hand side and then select “kindergarten registration.” Parents can also contact the center by calling 770-460-3990, ext. 362.
