Leadership Fayette 2008-2009 is off to a great start! Co-Chairs Vicki Turner - AIS Computers and Sharron Singletary – ExecuServe, kicked-off the popular program on Tuesday, September 16th at the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. Lunch was provided by the Season Tickets Sports Bar and Grill. For many years, the Chamber’s Leadership Fayette Program has helped develop and educate business and community leaders about important aspects of Fayette County. Participants develop relationships with other leaders from a diverse group of organizations and backgrounds. Leadership skills are developed by working together on team projects that benefit Fayette County.
Mayors Harold Logsdon of Peachtree City, Ken Steele of Fayetteville, Dan Rehwaldt of Tyrone and Gary Laggis of Woolsey joined the class for lunch. Each Mayor delivered an overview of their city/town and presented projects to the four teams. Virginia Gibbs, Chamber President presented an overview of the Chamber of Commerce. The class guidelines and monthly agendas were presented, and each class member or mentor was asked to give an introduction. At the end of the day the class broke into four teams and met with individual Mentors to discuss a strategy for the upcoming months. The Fayette County Chambers’ Leadership Fayette program will play a visible roll in the community during the next six months as they pursue their group projects. It will be a win-win for all!
