Fayetteville robber strikes again at Rite Aid

A white male walked into the Rite Aid store at 975 GA Hwy 54 W at approximately 4:24 PM on Thursday April 7, 2011 and robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash. The male brought a candy bar to the register and when the cashier opened the register, the man grabbed money from the register. The cashier initially fought back but the male told her he had a gun and she relented. The male then ran out the front door and fled west through the parking lot into a wooded area. Fayetteville Police Officers and Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene within minutes and began a search of the area. Fayette County K-9 units were able to track the male a short distance and it is believed he had a vehicle waiting. The male is described as a white male between 35-40 years of age, 5’10”-6’0” with a slim build and unshaven face. The male was wearing blue jeans, a gray sweat shirt/pullover, a dark colored baseball cap and sports sunglasses. Police believe the suspect is the same male who robbed Jan’s Florist earlier in the morning. Police were able to obtain video footage of the suspect from the Rite Aid surveillance system. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to contact Fayetteville Detective Mike Whitlow at (770) 461-4441.
