On January 26th, 2011, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers discovered a burglary at PeachMac, an Apple Computer Store in The Avenues Shopping Center. Upon investigation, it was determined that the thieves forced entry into the business by ramming one of their vehicles into the front entrance of the store. While inside, the thieves took numerous computers and computer components valued in excess of twenty-thousand dollars. The vehicles used to commit the burglary included a white compact vehicle and a tan or silver mid-size vehicle. These vehicles were observed leaving the shopping center by an officer who was patrolling the area. Upon engaging the two vehicles, a vehicle pursuit was initiated in the area of Hwy 54 and Stevens Entry. Due to the suspect driving recklessly, at a high rate of speed and with complete disregard for the safety of others, the pursuit was terminated.
Investigators from the Peachtree City Police Department are investigating the incident and conducting follow-up investigations on several different leads.
