The Town of Tyrone is planning a Parade of Champions for Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. to honor the Sandy Creek Patriots Football Team, who placed 1st in the State Championship and the Sandy Creek Lady Patriots Volleyball Team, who finished as State Runners-Up. The parade will include the football and volleyball teams, the band, color guard, ROTC, and Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squads. The parade will start at Handley Park at 10:00 a.m. and go south down Senoia Road to Shamrock Park, where the Mayor, Town Council and multiple other elected officials will present proclamations to both the football and volleyball teams.
